When it comes to truly abysmal software you need look no further than Windows XP's Add or Remove Software functionality.

Google can find any file anywhere on the internet in 0.05s but it still takes XP 10 minutes to figure out what software it has installed. Its not as if the answer has changed much since the last time it ran.

Now here is my problem, one of my children has installed some software on the XP machine that has obliterated the print spooler service, so nobody can print off their homework. Disaster. So run up Add/Remove Software, go make a coffee then select from the combo box to see what was the last thing installed - except the option does not exist. The one useful thing you could have done with this pile of poo and ITS NOT THERE!!!!

Microsoft you have had years to fix this problem. If Windows 7 is even fractionally less than perfect I will install Ubuntu on my laptop before you can say 'b'.
